Once upon a time....

Flash back to 1999, we were a family of four. Happy in our new roomy house and comfortable in our ways. A few years later, the Lord blessed us with an additional little package, little boy #3. Now we were a family of five and sure that would be the end. As time moved on, so did we. The Lord used the time that passed to open our eyes to His will. Several years ago, Bob and I individually heard the call to adoption. It has been a long "pregnancy", but during this incubation time, the Lord has brought us to where He wants us to be. Spring 2010, we traveled to Ethiopia where two little angels were waiting for the Lord's timing - to become our children. Now we are home and can't imagine life any differently! What a blessing to be in His will.

Galatians 4:5 says "God sent Christ to buy freedom for us, who were slaves to the law, so that He could adopt us as his very own children." We are just following his model. A Perfect picture of salvation.

Happy!!!

The girls had their first day of school today. Beti had a fabulous time and came home with a big smile on her face. She can't wait to go back tomorrow and every day after that! Nardos liked preschool ~ as long as Mommy was there. We stayed through lunch and came home for nap. We will do it that way for a few days while she gets used to the school thing.

After everyone got home, we went out to play in the back yard....the photos tell it all!

Princess Pics and Bikes

Thanks to Aunt Jenn for bringing the tiara and pink boa! The girls have loved wearing it. Beti even said that she wanted to wear it to church. I told her I didn't think so. The bikes have been a big hit and great exercise. Pray that Spring comes quickly or we will have some very upset girls - can't bike very well in the snow!

Transition ~ Nardos has learned what "no whining" means! She is very dramatic. She has the best giggle and can pout with the best of them. Beti is beginning to express herself more. She is putting together simple English sentences and loves to tease her sister and brothers. All in all we are doing very well.

The girls are going to start school on Monday. It will be three weeks after landing on US soil and Beti is definitely ready. She really wanted to start today, but the new quarter starts Monday, so we are going to wait. Nardos is not so excited about going to school and would rather stay home and play. The preschool that she will attend is going to allow me to come with her and stay as long and as many days as she needs. I was thrilled ~ not all schools would allow that! Nardos is definitely more clingy to me, which equals attachment. So, as hard as it is to carry her often and be with her most of the time, I know that I am building trust with her. Beti has really attached to Bob. Yesterday, every time the door opened or phone rang, she would say, "Daddy?" When he came home from work, she hugged him around the neck. So sweet.

Blessings,
Audra
